Mindy Wong is an experienced class action litigator with substantial experience overseeing the administration of multi-million dollar class action settlements. She began her career working with San Francisco-based startup enterprise software companies. Ms. Wong also represents clients in business litigation and entertainment law transactions. She assists artists and songwriters in contract negotiations to protect their valuable intellectual property rights. As part of her ongoing commitment to providing opportunities for underrepresented communities, Ms. Wong mentors minority law students and college students seeking guidance related to higher education and potential career paths.

Ms. Wong has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in class actions from 2015 to 2018. She was also selected as one of The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40.

Ms. Wong is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (B.A., Sociology) and University of San Francisco School of Law.

NOTABLE CASES

• Allagas v. BP Solar International, Inc., U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, Case No. 3:14-cv-00560-SI

Ms. Wong represented plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against BP related to defective solar panels which resulted in a $45.33 million common fund settlement and $20 million claims made settlement. Under the terms of the settlement businesses and homeowners are entitled to replacement solar panels and/or a new inverter where the work is performed by licensed solar contractors.

• Kuffner v. Suntech America, Inc., et al., Contra Costa County Superior Court, Case No C13-01328

Ms. Wong represented plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against a solar panel manufacturer related to defective solar panels that posed a potential fire hazard which resulted in a settlement valued at $11 million. More than 300 homeowners received replacement solar panels and/or a cash payout under the settlement. Ms. Wong had the primary responsibility for overseeing the administration of the settlement where a majority of the work was performed by Petersen Dean.

• United Desert Charities, Inc., et al. v. Sloan Valve Company, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, Case No. 2:12-cv-06878-SJO-SH

Ms. Wong represented plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer of a pressure-assisted flushing system that was the subject of a CPSC recall which resulted in an $18M settlement.

• Cambridge Lane, LLC v. J-M Manufacturing Company, Inc., U.S. District Court, Central District of California, Case No. 2:10-cv-06638-GW (PJWx)

Ms. Wong represents plaintiffs in a pending class action lawsuit against one of the world’s largest PVC pipe manufacturers.
