Nicholas F. Corning graduated cum laude from Seattle University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Commercial Science degree in Labor Relations and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Washington in 1972. Mr. Corning was a founding member of the Seattle law firm of Treece, Richdale, Malone, Corning & Abbott, P.S. and in 1999 relocated his practice and formed The Corning Law Firm, also in Seattle.

Mr. Corning's practice emphasizes litigation related to personal injury, business, and products liability. He has extensive complex litigation experience with the Washington Consumer Protection Act in such landmark cases as State v. Ralph Williams, Johnson v. Beneficial Management, State v. State Credit, and more recently, State v. David DelDotto.

His personal injury/products liability practice includes major recoveries against Ford Motor Company in an early Pinto exploding gas tank case and Chrysler Motors for Jeep rollovers and roll bar failure cases. He is now actively prosecuting personal injury cases involving vehicle rollover, crashworthiness, and defective road design.

Mr. Corning is a past president of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (now known as Washington State Association for Justice).  He is also a member of the King County Bar Association (KCBA), the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Attorneys Information Exchange Group, and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has been chosen by his peers to be among the top 4% of Washington attorneys to be named a Super Lawyer by Washington Law and Politics magazine each year since 1999, and is a member of the exclusive American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a group comprised of equal numbers of plaintiff and defense lawyers who are admitted by invitation only.

He has chaired KCBA's Public Information Committee and Speakers Bureau, WSBA's Public Relations Committee and has been a member of WSBA's Legislative Committee and WSBA's Bar Pac and served as Chair of KCBA's Judiciary and Courts Committee. He is a founding member of Lawyers Association Trust (LAT) as well as a founding member of WSTLA's People's Law School at North Seattle Community College. He is a past president of the Ballard Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ballard High School Foundation and is the president of the Foundation for Washington Courts.
