One of the things that makes the team at Neff Injury Law unique is the backgrounds and perspectives our four attorneys bring to each case. For example, my pre-law background as a registered public health nurse means clients benefit from a deep understanding of their case on a medical and legal level. My primary role on our team is to analyze, prepare, and present evidence for the injuries, causation, and damages for catastrophically injured clients at mediation and trial. I have represented, advocated for, and recovered financial payouts for hundreds of catastrophically injured clients for more than 30 years. My healthcare background informs the questions I ask treating physicians and the lens through which I review medical records and key evidence. It guides my pursuit of medical experts who can best articulate future life care needs of injured clients. It strengthens the way I help clients, family witnesses, and medical experts prepare for depositions and testimony. And perhaps most importantly, my healthcare background allows me to empathize with clients who have suffered significant injuries and loss including severe spine injuries, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition to those cases, I handle vaccine injury claims under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) for injuries including Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS); shoulder injuries (SIRVA); and optic neuritis. Before joining the team at Neff Injury Law in 2011, I started my legal career with the firm of Doherty, Rumble, and Butler in St. Paul, Minnesota, where I became a partner and shareholder. During my 15 years there, I represented health care organizations and conducted work under the Federal Tort Claims Act. I moved to Atlanta in 1998 to join the law firm of Walbert & Mathis where I handled medical malpractice claims, nursing home negligence claims, and drug product liability claims for another 13 years. I am licensed as a lawyer in Georgia and a member of the Georgia Bar. I am a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, the Vaccine Injured Petitioners (VIP) Bar, and the Federal Bar Association. I am admitted to the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and all the lower courts of Georgia. I am also admitted to the U.S. Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. I earned a Juris Doctor law degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and an undergraduate BS in nursing, summa cum laude, from Creighton University. On a personal note, I am mom to two amazing daughters and grandma to two adorable grandsons. I live in urban Atlanta, where I walk everywhere and participate in hot yoga. I love travel, cooking, photography, film, reading, music, and gardening.
