For the first six years of Brian Hoven's career, he represented Alabama insurance companies and their insured. He now devotes his practice to representing individuals who have been injured by the negligence and wrongdoing of others. Hoven has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials and bench trials. In 2010, Hoven was recognized by the Alabama Jury Verdict Reporter as one of the "Most Prolific Trial Attorneys" in Alabama. In the March 2013 issue of the Birmingham Magazine, he was recognized as one of Birmingham's "Top Attorneys" by his peers.
Hoven currently serves as an adjunct professor of law at Cumberland School of Law, where he teaches basic skills in trial advocacy. Hoven also volunteers his time as a bench judge and scoring judge for various law school trial competitions and moot court competitions. He serves on the Board of Directors with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and in 2013 served as chairman of its legislative advocacy committee. In 2011, Hoven served on the Associate Board for the Alabama Arthritis Foundation.
In his personal time, Brian enjoys college football, traveling, cooking, tennis, fishing and spending time with his family, friends and American Bulldog. During the fall, you can find Brian in Tuscaloosa cheering on the Crimson Tide.
