Award of Excellence for Trial Advocacy 2004  Biography:   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Tim Gaarder graduated cum laude with his Bachelor of Science Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees, both in 2001, from the University of Missouri. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - School of Law in 2004, attaining the Dean's List for academic excellence. He was also selected as one of two students in the school to attain the C.A.L.I. Award of Excellence for Trial Advocacy in 2004.  Mr. Gaarder is licensed to practice law in the states of Missouri and Kansas and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas.  Mr. Gaarder's civil practice consists of representing people who have sustained personal injuries primarily resulting from railroad crossing accidents, automobile/tractor-trailer accidents, faulty product manufacture or design, premises liability accidents and those involved in class actions. He also practices in the area of business tort litigation. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Lawyers Association of Kansas City, and the American Bar Association.  He is a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and an ardent fan of the Missouri Tigers. Mr. Gaarder is married and the father of four. He is from Joplin, Missouri, in the southwest part of the state. He currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a member of Visitation Catholic Church in Kansas City. He enjoys golf, tennis, and spending time with his growing family.
