During his first career in the United States Navy, where he completed his undergraduate degree with the American Military University in 2009, then Petty Officer First Class, Timothy P. Koller decided that his career would take a drastic shift in a direction that no one thought he would ever go. In 2010 while still on active duty, Timothy began his legal education with AMU in a Master of Arts program for Legal Studies. In 2011, Timothy left the United States Navy to pursue his Jurisdoctor at Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the suggestion of one of his professors.
During Timothy’s legal education he interned with The Rockhill Law Group in southern Maryland, the Virginia Beach Law Group in Virginia Beach, and later with The Gunther Legal Clinic which Timothy would help build into what would later become the Gunther Law Group. Following graduation and admission to practice law, Timothy opened the Outer Banks practice of Gunther Law Group in Manteo, North Carolina and quickly began to pick up momentum. At the end of 2016, Timothy withdrew from Gunther Law Group to begin East Carolina Law Group of The Law Office of Timothy P. Koller, PLLC and retaining 100% of his personal clientele from his practice with Gunther Law Group.
Timothy has been described as a “tough negotiator”, “aggressive litigator”, and “detail oriented attorney”. When reached for comment as to his character for admission to practice, one of Timothy’s references best described his conflict style as “having a cinder block thrown through your living room window...”
Timothy is a devoted father and husband, who loves the outdoors and being with his family followed closely by helping his clients through what he describes as “some of the toughest times in their lives.”
Timothy also serves as the Guardian Ad Litem, Attorney Advocate for Currituck County, Chowan County, and Gates County.
Timothy’s areas of practice include Civil Litigation and Personal Injury/Wrongful Death, Family Law including Divorce and Child Custody, Military Law, and Appeals.
Timothy’s admissions include The Supreme Court of North Carolina (including all lower courts), The Federal District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

In his spare time, what little he has, Timothy is an avid outdoorsman, and loves to spend summer days SCUBA diving off of the Outer Banks and Spearfishing. In the fall and winter, it is not uncommon to find him sitting in a deer stand with his Daughter.
