Wes has spent his distinguished career practicing exclusively in criminal law.
After clerking for the court in southeastern Minnesota, Wes worked as a public defender in the Tenth Judicial District where he handled a wide range of criminal cases including arguments at the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Wes then worked for a decade as an Assistant County Attorney in Scott County where he handled thousands of cases including charges of First Degree Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Felony Assault, Domestic Assault, Prostitution, Controlled Substance Crimes and DWI. As a prosecutor, he was also an instructor who trained police officers on a variety of law enforcement topics.
By joining Halberg Criminal Defense, Wes now uses his considerable experience and unique perspective as a former prosecutor to work tirelessly to defend people charged in the criminal system.
Wes is a contributing author to Minnesota's DWI Deskbook, a comprehensive legal resource used by judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys throughout the state. Wes has also volunteered years of service as a mentor to the Legal Mock Trial Program.
Wes lives in the Minneapolis area with his wife and children. During his free time, Wes enjoys camping, playing baseball and spending time with his family.
