Joseph "J.P." Pendergast is the founder and managing attorney of Pendergast Law, a personal injury firm with offices in Seattle, Renton, and Tacoma that represents injured people throughout Washington State.
J.P. was born and raised in Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington, earned his law degree at the University of Oregon, and spent five years as a King County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, in the courtroom every day. There he saw first-hand how a single accident can change the course of a person's life. He then founded Pendergast Law in the same community where he grew up and has practiced in Washington's courts ever since.
That prosecutor's discipline still shapes the firm. J.P. prepares every case from day one as if it is headed to trial, and that readiness is what makes strong settlements possible. Over more than three decades, he has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients, including a $4.05 million motorcycle-accident recovery in King County and a $4 million commercial-truck injury recovery in Seattle.
His practice covers wrongful death, car and commercial truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, premises liability, dog bites and animal attacks, and highway design cases. The firm advances all case costs and collects a fee only when the client does.
