Growing up in a low-income, single-parent household, I learned early the importance of standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. That drive has defined my career in criminal defense and trial advocacy. I have represented clients across Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho in both state and federal courts, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and have more than a decade of experience defending indigent clients through the Federal CJA program.
My professional background includes serving as a Pro Tempore Judge for the North Las Vegas Justice Court and assisting in teaching trial advocacy at UNLV’s Boyd School of Law. I have been a legal contributor to major media outlets such as CNN, Fox News, NBC, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and Channel 8 News Now, and have participated in legislative and policy work with the Southern Nevada Multi-Housing Association. I have also been cited as a panelist for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for its report on targeted fines and fees.
I am admitted to practice in Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho, including the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Idaho and Nevada and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of America, the Nevada Society of Italian American Lawyers, and both the Nevada and Idaho CJA panels. My work has been recognized with the Nevada Association of Criminal Justice’s Karen Winckler Dedicated Community Service Award
