Kathleen Bogenschutz specializes in criminal defense and injunctions in Tallahassee, FL. A native of Fort Lauderdale, she spent her first nearly nine years practicing at the Office of the State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit. She was a member of the special Sexual Battery and Child Abuse Unit for over four years, and at the time she resigned to move to Tallahassee, she was in the 10-20-Life or "Gun" unit. Upon moving to Tallahassee, she joined the Office of the State Attorney for the Second Judicial Circuit and was quickly assigned to handle 1/4 of the sex crimes occurring in Leon County, the home of FAMU, Tallahassee State College, and FSU.
After three years prosecuting crimes in Tallahassee and twelve total as a prosecutor, she was recruited to join a local criminal defense firm, where she was often utilized for her expertise in sex crimes and crimes against children. In January 2025, she started her own firm. Rather than running a volume business, she prefers a smaller case load so that clients receive personalized attention and cases are appropriately worked up for trial.
