Attorney Carter J. Adams is a 7th-generation Floridian and Winter Haven native with strong ties to the community. He graduated from Lake Region High School in the top 10% of his class and received a Bright Futures Scholarship. He was a Florida Boys State Representative, a member of the National Honor Society four years straight, an officer of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and a member of Key Club.
He also earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting. After high school, Mr. Adams attended Stetson University, where he was awarded the Wallace Foard Academic Scholarship, Dean's Scholarship, and Bright Futures Scholarship - all for Academic Excellence. Mr. Adams served as the Brotherhood Chair of his fraternity. Delta Sigma Phi. He received a Bachelor
of Arts degree in English from Stetson in 2008. Thereafter, Mr. Adams moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked for a publishing company and earned his Illinois Insurance Producers License.
After spending two years in Chicago, he returned to Florida and entered law school at Barry University School of Law, receiving a substantial scholarship for Academic Excellence and a high LSAT score. While in law school, Mr. Adams was an intern/law clerk with several different law firms, widening his experience with a different skill set each year.
He also worked for The Kaplan Bar Review. Through these internships, he gained early experience in criminal law. business law, contract law, real estate law, and tort law. He obtained his Juris Doctor in December of 2013 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2014. Mr. Adams began his career as an attorney, taking a position in Tampa, Florida, as an associate attorney with a large law firm. There, he represented financial institutions, traveling throughout the state of Florida for trials and hearings. In 2015, he moved back to the Winter Haven area and became an Assistant State Attorney for the 10th Judicial Circuit. As an Assistant State Attorney, Mr. Adams gained more courtroom experience by trying cases to juries. From there, he worked for Mood Law, where he continued to gain experience and skill as a Civil Litigation Attorney and Personal Injury Attorney for Auto, Trucking, and Medical Malpractice.
