Laura Swafford focuses her law practice representing individuals and their families in significant personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights cases. Laura grew up in Carmel, Indiana, and attend college at Indiana University with a degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Legal Studies. Laura obtain a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Prior to joining Wagner Reese, LLP, Laura was a litigator with a well-respected Indianapolis defense law firm where she focused her practice on cases involving personal and catastrophic injuries, employment discrimination, and civil rights violations. This prior experience sharpened Laura’s trial skills and has helped Laura to effectively advocate for her clients.
For the last 4 years (2019-2022), Laura has been selected by her peers to the Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, an honor only 2.5% of attorneys receive. She has also received recognition as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in 2021 and 2022 and by The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiffs Lawyers in Indiana. Laura has been a speaker at Indiana Trial Lawyer Association and National Business Institute conferences.
Laura is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana, the Southern District and Northern District federal courts and in the Seventh Circuit federal appellate court. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and bulldog. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
