
Attorney Robert Botnick is the founding partner of The Botnick Law Firm, located in Shaker Heights, Ohio. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where he attended Orange High School in Pepper Pike. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University and returned to Cleveland to earn his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University.
Following his admission to the Ohio Bar in 2004, Mr. Botnick served as a Cuyahoga County prosecutor for seven years where he handled serious felony cases, including murder, rape, arson, drug trafficking, computer crimes, and theft-related offenses, among numerous other crimes.
Mr. Botnick has tried over 60 felony trials in his career, including many that received special attention from local and national media outlets. In 2012, Mr. Botnick was admitted to the federal bar and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio and is available to appear pro hoc vice throughout the country.
Mr. Botnick is currently representing clients on federal, felony and misdemeanor state charges, OVI and traffic offenses, as well as delinquency matters in juvenile court. As part of his post-conviction practice, Mr. Botnick represents clients throughout Ohio with record expungements, sealings, and certificates of qualification for employment (CQE).
Mr. Botnick is married to his former law school classmate and current law partner, Abby, and they have two children together. He is an avid technology enthusiast, smoker of meats, enjoys rock and jazz, and spending time with his family.
