His commitment to workers’ rights began before law school, when he worked at a Maryland employment law firm advocating for workers facing discrimination, wage theft, wrongful termination, retaliation, and other workplace injustices. During law school, Sergio was a Peggy Browning Fund Fellow and served as a law clerk with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, where he supported unionized workers throughout the collective bargaining process.
Born in La Paz, Bolivia, to a Bolivian father and Colombian mother, Sergio is fluent in English and Spanish. His background informs his commitment to making legal representation accessible to the diverse communities he serves. He has dedicated his career to ensuring that workers are treated with dignity, afforded the protections they are entitled to, and fairly compensated when workplace injuries or other injustices disrupt their lives.
