Alex Abston is an associate attorney in the Houston office. Alex’s practice areas include products liability, pharmaceutical liability, and toxic torts. As a member of The Lanier Law Firm’s trial team, her practice is focused on client advocacy within mass tort federal multidistrict litigation and state court cases.

Community and Professional Activities

As a proud alumna of The National Speech & Debate Association and a former nationally ranked extemporaneous speaker, she coached high school speech and debate students in domestic and international extemporaneous speaking throughout her collegiate years.

Personal Background

Alex began work at The Lanier Law Firm as an intern in 2011. She spent her college and law school summers as a law clerk within the Firm’s asbestos, personal injury, and appellate divisions. Throughout law school, Alex also clerked for a prominent complex litigation firm focused on products liability, pharmaceutical, and sexual abuse civil suits across the country.

When she is not passionately advocating for her clients, Alex loves spending time in Houston with her family and her golden retrievers and loyally supporting all Houston sports teams.

  • Assisting with the intricate federal multidistrict and state litigations surrounding the devastating opioid epidemic that continues to impact American communities today.
  • Advocating for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer in their asbestos-related multidistrict and state suits against Johnson & Johnson’s talcum powder products.

  • Member of The Houston Business & Tax Law Journal and was named the “2019 Editor of the Year” for her work as Senior Assistant Executive Editor.
  • Upon her graduation from Abilene Christian University, the faculty nominated and selected Alex as “Honor Woman of the Year.”
