Angela is the daughter of the firm’s founder, Lawrence Madeksho, whose connection to asbestos litigation began long before he became an attorney. To put himself through school, Larry worked in the insulation trade during the 1960s at chemical plants and refineries along the Gulf Coast. After law school, he began representing friends and fellow workers who were developing asbestos-related diseases. Over the next four decades, he became a nationally recognized asbestos attorney, taking on some of the country’s largest corporations and insurers. Among his accomplishments, Larry served as Settlement Counsel in settlements with Travelers Insurance Company totaling more than half a billion dollars.
The people Larry represented were also the families Angela grew up around. That experience gave her an early and personal understanding of the devastating impact asbestos-related diseases can have not only on workers, but also on their spouses, children, and entire families.
Before becoming an attorney, Angela worked alongside her father as a paralegal, helping develop client cases, investigate potential asbestos exposures, and research the conduct of insurance companies involved in asbestos claims. That work contributed to litigation that ultimately resulted in significant recoveries for asbestos victims.
Today, Angela brings more than 20 years of experience in asbestos litigation to Madeksho Law. She has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a member of both the Top 100 and the Top 10 Asbestos & Mesothelioma trial lawyers. As a cancer survivor herself, Angela also understands on a personal level the uncertainty and emotional toll that can accompany a serious diagnosis. Her approach combines extensive legal experience with the perspective of someone whose connection to these cases extends well beyond the courtroom.
Angela earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her law degree from Texas Southern University School of Law. Together with her brother, Christopher Madeksho, who manages the firm’s Los Angeles office, she carries forward the work their father began. From its offices in Houston and Los Angeles, Madeksho Law represents individuals and families nationwide in cases involving asbestos-related mesothelioma, lung cancer, and toxic exposures.
Angela’s commitment to serving others extends beyond her legal practice. She founded ADORE Houston, a nonprofit rescue organization dedicated to addressing Houston’s homeless animal crisis by helping stray and abandoned dogs get off the streets, out of shelters, and into loving homes. She has also helped cancer patients facing the end of life find new homes for their beloved pets, giving them peace of mind that their animals will continue to be cared for.
In recognition of her contributions to animal welfare and the Houston community, the City of Houston has honored her with an annual “Angela Madeksho Day,” a special recognition of her dedication to advocating for and rescuing animals in need.
For Angela, Madeksho Law’s work is more than a profession. It is the continuation of a commitment that began with her father representing the workers he once stood beside—and one Angela and her brother, nationwide trial attorney Christopher Madeksho, proudly carry forward today.
