Annie Andrews
Annie Andrews Law
Mount Pleasant,
 SC

Annie brings substantial trial experience to her practice, which focuses primarily on catastrophic personal injury cases, wrongful death cases, and medical malpractice.

Annie is particularly passionate about medical malpractice cases, institutional abuse cases, and commercial trucking accidents because she believes in holding large corporations accountable and making communities safer through vigorous advocacy. Annie’s litigation foundation was built at the Charleston County Public Defender’s office, where she zealously fought for the rights of over 2,000 indigent individuals and tried dozens of cases to verdict, developing the courtroom skills that now serve her clients in these complex civil matters.

Beyond legal representation, Annie is a recognized advocate for systemic reform. While representing incarcerated youth in Charleston, she challenged unconstitutional conditions of confinement, leading to the closure of the fifty-year-old dilapidated Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center and ending decades of unconstitutional youth confinement. She also spearheaded a book drive of 4,000+ young adult books to build libraries in juvenile facilities across Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville.

Annie is rated “AV-Preeminent®” by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level of professional excellence for legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, and named within the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” by The National Trial Lawyers. Her leadership has been recognized through numerous awards, including the 2021 Emerging Leader Award from the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA), recognition in Charleston Business Magazine’s 2021 Women in Business, the 2019 “Star of the Quarter” Award from the SC Bar Young Lawyers Division, and being named South Carolina’s 2019 “Juvenile Public Defender of the Year.”

Annie currently serves as Secretary of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, Chair of the Child Advocacy Committee for the South Carolina Association for Justice, and is a member of the James L. Petigru Inn of Court.
