Benedict V. James is a trial lawyer, and his career has been focused on trying lawsuits and litigation. Mr. James founded Sandoval and James Law Firm with Esteban Sandoval in 2016 after eight years of practice that included trying personal injury and criminal law cases, as well as several years of managing litigation departments for successful law firms. Mr. James has conducted jury trials all over the state of Texas and is admitted to all the federal district court jurisdictions in Texas as well. Some of the counties where Mr. James has first-chaired jury trials are Travis County, Dallas County, Tarrant County, Collin County, Smith County, and Nueces County. Mr. James grew up in Austin, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate education and Baylor Law School for his legal degree. Mr. James believes that as an attorney one must be a relentless force for justice and be fearless no matter the odds or the opposition. This attitude has helped thousands of his personal injury clients and thousands more to come.
Mr. James is a member and great supporter of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. James is on the board of directors for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and is a zealous advocate for trial by jury and just compensation for those that have been wronged by others.
Further, Mr. James has been recognized for his achievements by organizations such as the National Trial Lawyers, the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, and the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. Mr. James is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum for achieving million and multi-million-dollar recoveries for his clients. Mr. James is fluent in Bulgarian and proficient in Serbian and Macedonian.
Mr. James is happily married and has two beautiful daughters. His wife shares his passion for helping those oppressed or underprivileged. Mrs. Draionna James is a zealous supporter of the Human Rights Campaign and gives a lot of her time to charitable causes and the community alongside Mr. James.
Mr. James is also an avid chess player and one of his great personal achievements is playing in Washington Square Park in New York City and beating one of the regular players there, multiple times. Although he lost to a second player, the famous “Cornbread,” Mr. James vows he will beat him the next time he visits New York City.
