Benjamin Bertram focuses his practice in the areas of pharmaceutical product liability litigation, medical negligence, and nursing home abuse or negligence. He grew up around lawyers, foremost his father J. Scott Bertram, who worked at Legal Aid handling criminal defense and went on to represent individuals in casees involving serious injuries and wrongful death. Benjamin learned at a young age that it was best to focus more on helping individuals rather than large companies. During his years in college and law school, he was fortunate enough to attend seminars with his father and meet leaders in the fields of mass tort litigation and plaintiff’s civil litigation generally. This exposure to some of the best in the business, both locally and nationally, inspired Benjamin to join their ranks as a Kansas City product liability attorney.

Learning & Working With the Best

Benjamin is proud that he has had the privilege of having known and worked with many of the most highly qualified and talented trial attorneys and law firms in the United States, on both sides of the aisle. He has successfully represented thousands of clients across the United States that have been injured by defective drugs and medical devices. Given the complexity of mass tort litigation, he believes this experience and knowledge provides him with a greater understanding of how to develop winning strategies, and how to best achieve successful outcomes for his clients.

Benjamin’s representation of clients in product liability cases has led to his inclusion in Super Lawyers Kansas/Missouri as a Rising Star 2011-2012 and as a Super Lawyer 2013-2014, and 2016. In addition, Benjamin received the The National Trial Lawyers Association’s Top 100 civil plaintiff award for 2016. Benjamin has also been selected for inclusion in “2017 National Trial Lawyers Top 100” as well as “2017 Mass Tort Trial Lawyers Top 25”.

Helping Clients Get What They Need

When you sit down with Benjamin to discuss your case, you will be able to ask any questions you may have. If a client does not have a case that can or should be pursued, he is open and honest about that fact with the client. He considers himself to be both an advocate and a counselor, and works hard to maintain a consistent, open dialogue with clients to ensure that they are fully informed throughout the litigation process, whether their case takes a few months or a few years. Our Kansas City product liability lawyer prides himself on applying his unique experience and knowledge to obtain successful outcomes for his clients.
