Berkin's practice includes traumatic brain injuries, commercial trucking and tractor-trailer crashes, motor vehicle collisions, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, premises liability, and medical malpractice matters. He has significant experience handling complex cases involving neuroimaging, biomechanical engineering, accident reconstruction, expert testimony, and layered commercial insurance coverage, giving him a strong understanding of both the legal and technical issues that can shape the outcome of a serious injury claim.
Before joining Baker & DiSalvo, Berkin was a partner at a large Florida personal injury firm, where he served as Litigation Department Lead and secured the largest settlement in the firm’s history. He also founded and directed the firm’s internal Focus Group Program and led its Summer Associate Program, helping develop young attorneys while creating systems to evaluate cases, test arguments, and prepare matters for trial.
Berkin began his legal career at an insurance defense firm handling medical malpractice matters. That experience gave him valuable insight into how insurance companies and defense attorneys investigate claims, assess exposure, develop defenses, and evaluate cases for settlement and trial. He now uses that perspective when preparing cases on behalf of injured clients.
Berkin earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law in 2015. While in law school, he served on the boards of the NSU Trial Association and Moot Court Society and earned “Best Advocate” honors at two national mock trial competitions with more than 125 competitors at each event. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University, where he attended on the Hennigan Debate Scholarship and competed for four years as a member of GWU’s Policy Debate Team.
He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2016 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida. Berkin was selected to The National Trial Lawyers’ Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in 2025 and is a member of the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and The National Trial Lawyers.
