Bob Sexton has been practicing law in Arkansas for over 20 years. A product of the small town of Lonoke, Sexton has lived in Arkansas his entire life. He attended college at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and then moved to the capital city to attend the Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Sexton began working with Mike Rainwater in the 1990’s and together with Stephen Holt they formed Rainwater, Holt & Sexton in 2006. As a partner at the largest personal injury law firm in Arkansas, Sexton has helped oversee tremendous growth. What started as a handful of attorneys and staff has now grown to over 30 attorneys and 100+ support staff. “We’re big enough to go against any insurance company, but we’re small enough to care about the clients,” said Sexton. The growth has been possible because of the excellence and care with which they have served thousands of clients. “I count it a great honor to represent the people of Arkansas,” said Sexton. “I genuinely like talking to and helping people, and I’m grateful we have helped so many Arkansans throughout the years.”
The law energizes Sexton. He loves being presented a difficult and problematic situation and making it work for the client. Throughout his career he has done this for the thousands of clients he has represented. What guides him in the difficult situations is pretty easy, “…it’s fairness” he says, “People in Arkansas want to be treated fairly. Rainwater, Holt & Sexton provides them with a pathway to solve their problems.”
While the law is important to Sexton, his family also plays a huge role in his life. He is married to his college sweetheart and they have 3 children. When he is not working, Sexton is with his family and enjoying Arkansas outdoors. He is an avid duck hunter and also enjoys fishing in the warmer months. “I decided early on that if my children were going to learn to hunt and fish, they were going to learn it from me,” said Sexton. “So I love being in a duck blind with my kids as the sun starts peaking over the horizon or showing them how to fish on one of the many great rivers we have in the state,” he added.
Sexton is also very involved at his church and in the community. He is a board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the William H. Bowen School of Law Alumni Association, the Ouachita Baptist University Higginbotham School of Business, and on the Board of Governors for the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association.
