Craig graduated with High Honors from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in biochemistry. He received his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. During his career, he has been in private practice as well as a corporate and government attorney.
Craig started his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable James Turk, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Roanoke. He practiced civil litigation for a law firm in Charleston, West Virginia, and then was with the Securities and Exchange Commission for twelve years. He spent time as General Counsel to two companies in the Front Range and has been in private practice since 2008. He also has been a Special Assistant United States Attorney.

Craig is a member of the National Trial Lawyers, the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Douglas/Elbert Bar Association.
Craig is an avid cyclist. He likes to ride centuries and double centuries. He has ridden the Triple Bypass (Evergreen to Eagle-Vail) numerous times, Seattle to Portland, and LoTOJa (Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, WY).
