David Lish is an Owner and Founding Partner at Grand Canyon Law Group, bringing more than 20 years of experience on both sides of Arizona's criminal justice system. His unique background as both a prosecutor and defense attorney gives him an in-depth understanding of how criminal cases are investigated, charged, and defended.
David spent more than six years as a Deputy Maricopa County Attorney, prosecuting a wide range of serious felony cases. He served extensively in the Sex Crimes Bureau, where he handled nearly every type of sex offense and received advanced training in forensic interviewing of children, DNA analysis, medical evidence, and forensic computer analysis. He later joined the City of Scottsdale Prosecutor's Office, where he focused on DUI prosecution and completed extensive training in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing which is the same training required of law enforcement officers conducting DUI investigations.
After years as a prosecutor, David transitioned to criminal defense, where he spent nearly six years at one of Arizona's largest criminal defense firms. He ultimately became the firm's lead attorney, mentoring other lawyers while handling its most complex and high-stakes cases. Throughout his career, David has secured outstanding results for clients through dismissals, favorable plea agreements, and successful trial verdicts.
Today, as an Owner at Grand Canyon Law Group, David draws on his extensive experience as a felony prosecutor, sex crimes prosecutor, DUI prosecutor, and defense attorney to build strategic, effective defenses for every client he represents.
