Debra Freid obtained her B.A. from Wayne State University in 1978 and her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 1981, cum laude. Admitted to practice in all Michigan state courts, the U.S. District court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, her practice focuses on employment discrimination and discharge actions as well as serious personal injury litigation. Freid is a Past President and current Executive Committee member of the Michigan Association for Justice, Membership Chair of the Michigan Chapter of ABOTA, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), on the Negligence Council for the State Bar of Michigan, and a member of the American Association for Justice, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the State Bar Labor & Employment Law Section, and the Women's Lawyer Association of Michigan. Ms. Freid is the editor of the MAJ Verdicts and Settlements, and has been a speaker at both ICLE and MAJ seminars. Freid is rated as AV Preeminent signifying legal excellence, and she has been recognized as a Super Lawyer 2019- present, and by the National Trial Lawyers of America: Top 100 Trial Lawyers since 2015. She is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (as of March 2017, one of only 9 then certified in Michigan).
