Attorney Derek A. Reams is a Board-Certified Civil Trial Attorney specializing in personal injuries suffered from motor vehicle crashes, motorcycle crashes, tractor-trailer crashes, as well as crashes involving pedestrians and bicyclists. Additionally, he and his firm handle medical malpractice cases as well as premises liability cases throughout Florida. Mr. Reams is the owner of Derek A. Reams, PLLC d/b/a McCue, Reams, Bucha & Associates, which is also known as Q Auto Injury & Medical Malpractice Attorneys. A native Floridian born in Tallahassee, Florida, Mr. Reams played collegiate baseball at both Florida State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Reams received his undergraduate degree with honors in Criminal Justice in 1997 from the University of Southern Mississippi and before attending law school, he worked for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and completed the Minimum Standards Training Course to become a law enforcement officer with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. In the Summer of 1999, Mr. Reams began law school at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and graduated with honors in December 2001. Upon graduating from Ole Miss Law School, Mr. Reams worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County Florida from January 2002 until January 2005. Since January 2005, Mr. Reams' career has been devoted to helping personal injury victims throughout Florida. Mr. Reams' trial experience includes 39 Civil jury trials and 45 Criminal jury trials. In 2013, Mr. Reams became Board-Certified in Civil Trial by the Florida Bar. Board Certification in Civil Trial is held by less than 5% of attorneys licensed to practice in Florida. Mr. Reams is also admitted to practice in the United States Federal Court Middle District of Florida and has successfully argued appeals before Florida’s Second District Court of Appeals.
