Doug Ponder's practice is centered around the representation of individuals who have been wrongfully terminated by their employer or injured by the conduct of another. He has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including trials, mediations, and appeals. Over the course of his career, Doug has tried over forty cases to successful conclusion. In addition, Doug has successfully pursued appeals before the Missouri Court of Appeals and Missouri Supreme Court.
Before founding Ponder Zimmermann LLC, Doug spent years as a civil defense lawyer representing hospitals and insurance companies in complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases. He handled a wide range of matters, from complicated medical malpractice cases involving catastrophic injuries to straightforward automobile accident cases. This experience gives Doug insight into how insurance companies defend against claims and lawsuits, which can be a significant advantage for his clients.
Doug graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, a top twenty-five law school. He was the recipient of the Booker and Betty Smith Law Scholarship and the prestigious Iowa Law School Foundation Merit Scholarship. Upon graduation, Doug served as a judicial law clerk for then Chief Judge Edwin H. Smith of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.
