Duana Boswell-Loechel grew up in Moore, Oklahoma and moved to League City, Texas her junior year of high school where she attended and graduated from Clear Creek High School.
Duana earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from University of Houston Clear Lake. After earning her BA, Duana took time off from school to start a family.
When her twin daughters were a year old, she entered South Texas College of Law Houston where she earned her JD in 2004. Afterwards, she started her own firm in 2005 in Galveston County, where her solo-practice focused on Probate, Family Law and Criminal Defense.
After closing her solo firm in 2009 following Hurricane Ike, she worked for Lone Star Legal Aid until June 2017, where she was the Litigation Director for family law and probate for Lone Star Legal Aid. She represented clients in bankruptcy, Hague matters, landlord-tenant, public and subsidized housing, credit card defense, social security and public benefits, foreclosures, and appeals.
Duana received a resolution from the Texas State Bar for pro bono work in 2009. In 2015 Duana obtained her Board Certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and in 2016 was voted one of Houstonia magazine’s top 100 lawyers.
Following many successful years at Lone Star Legal Aid, Duana then served as the Managing Attorney of the Houston/Clear Lake office for the Texas law firm Bailey & Galyen until December 2018. While at Bailey & Galyen, Duana predominantly focused on family law cases, and practiced in all Brazoria, Galveston and Harris County Courts.
