For nearly a decade, Attorney Eric Hayhurst has represented individuals seriously injured by the negligent and reckless acts of others. In 2017, he founded Hayhurst Law, PLLC, located in Morgantown, West Virginia, with the focus of bringing personal attention to each and every one of his clients. Licensed to practice law in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, Mr. Hayhurst serves clients throughout the Morgantown area and the rest of the state, as well as the surrounding region of southwestern Pennsylvania, helping those who face serious legal challenges involving personal injury, wrongful termination, family law and criminal defense.
A 2005 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, Mr. Hayhurst also attended the West Virginia University College of Law. While pursuing his law degree, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and received several CALI Awards for his outstanding academic achievements. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 2009, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class.
In 2009, he received his license to practice in West Virginia from the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia admitted him to practice that same year. The following year, he received admittance to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, and in 2014, he received his license from the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Recognized as a tenacious and aggressive litigator, Mr. Hayhurst has achieved notable success defending the rights and protecting the best interests of those he has served. Having recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his plaintiff personal injury clients, he earned a permanent membership into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and he is peer-review rated Preeminent through Martindale-Hubbell* for his impeccable professionalism, his high ethical standards and his exceptional legal abilities. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Rising Star among personal injury attorneys in West Virginia by Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Hayhurst serves as the Secretary of the Young Lawyer Executive Committee of the West Virginia State Bar and the President of the Monongalia County Bar Association.
In his spare time, Eric enjoys WVU Mountaineer sports, officiating high school basketball and baseball games, spending time with his dog, Baxter, and partaking in activities in Morgantown and the surrounding areas.
