Hailing from Greensboro, NC, Erin Bailey began crafting her defense and deliberation skills early - crowned NC High School Debate Champion in 1998.

Her reputation for out-working the competition, grace under pressure and voracious contest won the attention of and a scholarship from the University of South Carolina where she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Political Science and, ultimately, J.D. by 2007. Her decorated law school tenure included being on Moot Court, winning the pro bono award, and serving as Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business.

Erin careened out of bar admission straight into service as the newly elected Judge Larry Hyman’s first law clerk from 2008 - 2009. For the next seven years, she honed her approach and aptitude in Georgetown, SC as an Assistant Solicitor before being promoted to Senior Assistant Solicitor.

Meant to go her own way, in March 2016 Erin founded her criminal defense and personal injury law firm, The Law Office of Erin E. Bailey, with the core mission of helping people in their darkest hour and giving them hope for their brightest future. Bespoke by design and with deep community roots, her objective was to curate a firm that ran simply and seamlessly in order to focus full attention on its clients.

The calm in the eye of the storm, Erin soon garnered a reputation for humanizing her clients and tenaciously, tirelessly advocating for them across the 20+ cases she's tried to verdict. Joined by personal injury attorney Ranny Stephens in 2019, her practice evolved to be Erin Bailey Law in 2023.

Alongside securing noteworthy indictment dismissals and acquittals, she ranks among the Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers in South Carolina by the National Trial Lawyers, holds the highest peer-review rating (AV) through Martindale-Hubbell, and is recognized as Preeminent for Legal Ability and for Ethical Standards by her colleagues.

Committed to contribution and thought leadership among her colleagues, Erin has presented at the South Carolina Association for Justice Conference, The South Carolina Criminal Defense Lawyers and The South Carolina Bar Convention. She also served on the Criminal Law Council of the South Carolina Bar as a member of the South Carolina Bar’s House of Delegates.

Outside of her practice and the courtroom, Erin has served on the Board of Directors of the Magdalene House of Charleston, the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Church in South Carolina, and the Vestry of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Charleston.

When it comes to her clients, Erin sees them as a whole during their darkest hours - recognizing and believing they have hopes, dreams, loved ones and a future worth fighting for.
