Attorney Gregory Sobol has deep roots in Western Pennsylvania. Greg takes great pride in helping clients navigate the legal system—particularly injury victims who find themselves involved in litigation through no fault of their own. He is committed to easing the burdens that accompany serious injuries and providing steady, results-driven advocacy during what is often a difficult time in his clients’ lives.
Greg was raised in Brookville before attending California University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and graduated with honors. Upon graduation, Greg attended Duquesne University School of Law. At Duquesne, Greg earned the CALI Award for receiving the top grade in Health Care Law and was later published in the Duquesne Business Law Journal for his work on outpatient surgery centers. At Duquesne, Greg laid the foundation for his legal career, working with the City of Pittsburgh Zoning Board, the Veterans’ Administration, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and with Duquesne’s Urban Redevelopment Clinic.
Since graduating from law school, Greg has continued to build upon his experience developing an expansive legal skillset that he leverages to the benefit of his clients. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk in Warren and Forest Counties, where he gained valuable insight into how our courts analyze and evaluate cases. In the decade since, Greg has used his broad foundation to become a seasoned litigator in both state and federal courts throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Marcus & Mack, Greg represented insurance companies and businesses as a defense attorney. At Marcus & Mack, Greg has leveraged his experience into a distinct strategic advantage: he understands how insurers assess liability, exposure, and case value, and he knows the tools that insurance companies will use to try to limit the recovery by his clients. Greg uses this valuable background to anticipate defense tactics, strategically position his cases, and maximize financial recovery for his clients. Greg’s experience has distinguished him as a trial lawyer; he is a member of the Jefferson County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Trial Lawyers Association Top 100 Civil Trial Lawyers – an invitation-only organization for trial attorneys.
Outside of his legal practice, Greg is actively involved in his community. He is a strong supporter of local youth athletics, having volunteered and sponsored numerous events and organizations. He has served as a baseball coach for both Brookville and Brockway High Schools, as well as youth sports in Brookville. In his free time, Greg enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, whether on the golf course during the summer or on the ski slopes in the winter.
