Jason Fernandez is the Senior Associate at Greenberg & Bederman, LLC in charge of the firm's litigation division. He concentrates his practice on representing those persons injured due to the negligence and misdeeds of others, including medical malpractice and premises and automobile accidents.
Jason is licensed to practice law in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and Virginia. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for Maryland, the District of Columbia (DC), the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Maryland Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, The D.C. Bar Association, The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the D.C. Trial Lawyers Association, the Maryland Association for Justice, The Montgomery County Bar Association, and Prince George's County Bar Association.
Since joining the firm, Jason has litigated over 40 jury trials and over a hundred bench trials in Maryland, DC and Virginia. In his career, he has already resolved multiple cases with gross value of over $1,000,000.00. In 2015, he was named a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers? for the District of Columbia (DC), which places him in the top 2.5% of all young lawyers regardless of practice area. Prior to this, Jason was awarded Super Lawyers? "Rising Star" status in the state of Maryland in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. He has twice been named "Top 40 under 40" in the State of Maryland by the National Trial Lawyers. He was interviewed by NPR's national broadcast "All Things Considered" regarding the future impact of driverless cars.
He received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University with honors in 2003, which he attended on a full academic scholarship. Upon graduation, Jason matriculated to the University of Iowa College of Law on full academic scholarship. During law school, Jason was the First Vice-Chairperson of the Moot Court Executive Board and captain of the College's Trial Advocacy team. While working the school's legal clinic, Jason authored a brief that successfully challenged the constitutionality of an Iowa criminal sentencing statute.
