Joel S. Magolnick is co-Managing Partner of the Firm and chairperson of the Litigation Department. He is an AV peer review rated (signifying that his peers consider his legal skills to be 'very high to preeminent') litigator in both state and federal trial and appellate courts, focusing on commercial matters, complex securities matters, shareholder disputes, RICO related matters, Internet related matters, personal injury, constitutional litigation, professional malpractice, product liability, employment related matters, and construction litigation. Mr. Magolnick is fluent in Spanish and represents many clients, both individual and institutional, from South America and Central America. In his early legal career, Mr. Magolnick had significant involvement in the mass tort arena, successfully representing individual and class action plaintiffs from all areas of the United States in both asbestos litigation and defective heart valve litigation. In more recent years, Mr. Magolnick was lead defense counsel in a complex product liability Multi-District Litigation in the Southern District of Florida, and served as a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee for the New York ReNu With MoistureLoc Product Liability Litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Magolnick has successfully tried numerous jury and non-jury cases and has been involved in several matters which resulted in multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients. He has also been appointed by the courts as a Guardian ad-litem and a receiver. He is a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, as well as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Magolnick is a member of the Florida Bar, as well as the United States Supreme Court bar, and the bars of the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida, the Middle District of Florida, and the Northern District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Magolnick graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1988, after having received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany in 1985.

Admitted to the Bar in 1988, Mr. Magolnick earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Albany. He is fluent in Spanish and represents many clients, both individual and institutional, in Central and South America, and throughout Europe.
Mr. Magolnick volunteers as a guardian ad litem and represents select clients on a pro bono basis in various matters.
He has lived in South Florida since 1985.
