John M. Jefcoat is a life long resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. John was born in Lafayette in 1964 and grew up in the Lafayette area. As a result, this is where he chose to make his home. John is a 1982 graduate of Acadiana High School. Upon graduation, he first attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. He then earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1986 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana. After graduation, John went into private business until 1992, at which time he entered law school at Southern University. John then graduated from Southern University Law School in 1995, magna cum laude.
In 1996, John became a founding partner of the personal injury law firm Galloway Jefcoat. Galloway Jefcoat strives to meet the needs of injured persons throughout the State of Louisiana, serving individuals and families in Lafayette, Calcasieu Parish, Sulphur and Lake Charles, in addition to representing nationwide claims. Using the experience he has gained as a Lafayette personal injury attorney, John also represented clients from Alaska to Bull Island in the British Virgin Islands.
