
John M. Jefcoat is an experienced personal injury attorney based in Lafayette, Louisiana. As a founding partner of Galloway Jefcoat Injury Attorneys, he has dedicated his legal career to representing individuals and families who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Since returning to Lafayette in 1995, John has helped clients throughout Louisiana pursue the compensation they deserve after serious accidents and injuries.
Before attending law school, John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly the University of Southwestern Louisiana) and pursued private business ventures while living in Guatemala City, Guatemala. His experiences abroad broadened his perspective and ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in law focused on helping others.
In 1992, John enrolled at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. He graduated magna cum laude in 1995, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and the legal profession.
After graduation, John returned home to Lafayette and, in 1996, co-founded Galloway Jefcoat Injury Attorneys, a law firm dedicated exclusively to representing injured clients throughout Louisiana. For nearly three decades, he has built a practice centered on compassionate client service, thorough case preparation, and advocating for those whose lives have been changed by serious injuries.

Outside of the office, John values spending time with his family. He is married to June Odom Jefcoat, and together they have two children, attorney Johnae Jefcoat-Broussard (married to Dylan Broussard) and Jacob Jefcoat (married to Brittany Reviere). John and June are proud grandparents to five grandchildren: Eden, Noelle, Navy, James, and Maris.
