Jonathan Laurans has been litigating appellate and post-conviction cases in State and Federal courts for over 34 years. In 2025 and 2026 alone, Mr. Laurans won appellate reversals of sex-offense and homicide convictions which set aside a total of 7 life sentences due to "ineffective assistance of trial counsel." And he also won the dismissal of a civil action against a Federal prison official following oral argument in a Ninth Circuit appeal.

He is also licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, along with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits. And he has been granted permission to represent clients in the State and Federal courts of New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and California.
