Personal Injury & Mass Tort Lawyer
Justinian Lane was born in upstate New York, but doesn't remember much of his time there as his parents relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada when he was just 11 days old.
Justinian's father was a well-respected workers' compensation attorney in Nevada who never encouraged Justinian to become a lawyer. Years later, his father would say that he was merely practicing reverse psychology.
Justinian initially began a career in the technology industry, and at age 17 he accepted a job as a network administrator at the nuclear test site run by the Department of Energy outside of Las Vegas. For close to ten years, he worked at technology companies such as Perot Systems and Microsoft Corporation. Eventually, he returned to his home town to start his own technology consulting business. The business failed to flourish and Justinian closed the doors.
Justinian relocated with his family to Abilene, Texas where he took a job as a part-time computer administrator for a personal injury law firm. Thanks to the unexpected departure of several lawyers, Justinian was given the opportunity to be trained as a paralegal.
This new job gave him a profound sense of personal fulfillment. He wasn't just completing projects, he was helping people in a very tangible way. Justinian still proudly recalls working on a nursing home abuse case in which the settlement allowed a grieving family to finally buy a tombstone for their deceased father.
So, Justinian made the decision to become a lawyer. It was a long road for him because he went right into the technology industry without attending a day of college. Justinian then enrolled in a local community college and began the long journey towards becoming a personal injury attorney.
Justinian moved to Lansing, Michigan where earned his bachelor's degree from Siena Heights University. He immediately enrolled in the Michigan State University College of Law.
During law school, he won the all-school Moot Court competition both years that he entered, was part of the second-place ABA Arbitration competition team, and worked at the Lansing City Attorney's office where he made numerous court appearances on behalf of the City of Lansing.
Upon graduation, he took and passed the Washington State bar exam. Shortly thereafter, he accepted an offer to work with a firm that exclusively handled asbestos and pharmaceutical cases in Austin, TX.
After only a year, Justinian accepted an incredible opportunity to start a mass torts division at a San Antonio law firm where he successfully built a mass tort practice for that firm.
The stars aligned for Justinian to realize his dream and start his own law firm dedicated to helping people, and in 2013 he founded Justinian & Associates.
In his spare time, Justinian enjoys spending time with his family, watching bad movies, and anything automotive related.
