Marc Wilhite has developed a tightly focused practice, representing public employees (both union members and non-union members). He has exceptionally deep experience in representing police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel, in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
These representations are often complex, involving specific processes dictated by public sector union agreements. They include a broad range of issues such as disciplinary investigations, excessive force complaints and more. His employment law work includes representations involving wrongful terminations, sexual harassment, hostile work environments, whistleblower retaliation, and workers compensation among others. As a result, Marc has extensive experience appearing before trial boards, retirement boards and public employee relations boards. He has also successfully handled scores of representations that were able to be resolved at the department level.
With more than 20 years of experience in these representations, Marc has developed a deep understanding of various disciplinary boards, the preferences and tendencies of these disciplinary boards and what determines the strength of a client’s position. Marc takes great pride in his care for clients and invests significant effort and time in developing strong professional relationships with his client to better understand the needs and objectives of each. As a result, Marc is able to give clients frank, honest and accurate counsel with regard to the strength of their individual case.
