About Matt
A Maryland native who happily resides with his wife and dog in Frederick, MD, Matt loves hiking, kayaking, and running. As a former state prosecutor and volunteer firefighter, Matt understands the selfless dedication that our public safety officers deliver on a daily basis. He strives to deliver this same level of commitment to his clients.
Professional Experience
Before joining Berman, Sobin, Gross, in 2015, Matt began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable David A. Boynton in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. From there, he joined the State's Attorney's Office for Frederick County, where he prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, including traffic offenses, drug offenses, internet crimes, domestic violence and financial crimes. During his time as a prosecutor, Matt learned valuable litigation and negotiation skills as he worked alongside a talented team of experienced and professional attorneys. This experience was enhanced by more than a hundred hours of additional training with both fellow prosecutors and law enforcement. With this background, Matt understands the challenges and the rewards associated with building a strong case, arguing it aggressively, and persuading both judge and jury. To this end, since joining Berman, Sobin, Gross, Matt has represented hundreds of injured workers, including police officers, firefighters, and correctional officers, and ensured that they receive the appropriate medical care and monetary compensation for their injuries.
