Kansas City personal injury lawyer Matt McCoy was born and raised in Clinton, Missouri where he grew up playing sports and hunting and fishing with his two brothers. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. In addition to graduating summa cum laude, Matt served as the president of a large and active philanthropic student organization while in Warrensburg.
After his graduation from the University of Central Missouri, Matt attended law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, graduating in the top five of his class in 2015. He earned Cali Awards for top grades in Contracts I, Children in the Law, Federal Jurisdiction, Estate Planning for Elder Law, Evidence, Administrative Law, Business Torts and Unfair Competition. While attending law school Matt clerked for Presley & Presley, LLC for two years and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
