When Matt accepts a case, he is relentless in his pursuit for justice. Because every client and legal problem is unique, Matt develops individual plans for his clients to obtain the maximum recovery allowed under the law. His client-focused approach has resulted in success in the courtroom. In fact, Matt was honored as the Most Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer in the United States (F. Scott Baldwin Award) by the American Association for Justice (AAJ) in recognition of his significant jury verdicts. The AAJ is the largest trial lawyer organization in the world with an active membership of over 56,000.
Matt's peers, both judges and attorneys, recognize his commitment to the legal profession, his knowledge of the law and decorum to his colleagues. He was invited by his peers to become a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, which is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a member of the State Bar of Texas. Only the top 1/3 of 1% of all Texas attorneys are invited to become Fellows. He has also been recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in Texas by The National Trial Lawyers. Matt is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell?, which is the highest possible legal and ethical rating. Martindale-Hubbell? Matt obtained a B.B.A. from Baylor University in 2000 and graduated from Baylor Law School in 2001, where he was an editor of the Baylor Law Review and president of the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Society.
When not in the office, Matt enjoys time with his wife and three children, trail running and spending time outdoors. He is also an instrument-rated, private pilot.
