He’s been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal as one of the “Top 40 Under 40 Businessmen” in the Charlotte metro region, is the co-author of “Carolina Injury Law: A Reference for Accident Victims,” and has been a frequent speaker and presenter at AAJ, NCAJ, Trial Lawyers Summit, M&L and MMG Seminars for attorneys and speaks on topics ranging from Exceptional Customer Service to Best Practices for the PI Firm of the Future.
In addition to his many legal accomplishments, Mr. DeMayo has consistently and methodically developed a track record of Philanthropy with a specific focus on community outreach, service to the poor and education. He has served on the Wake Forest University Alumni Council and a member of the 1834 Society. Mr. DeMayo served as a Committee Chairman of the Development Committee for the UNC- (Chapel Hill) School of Law and has is a member of the William Battle Horn Society, Van Hecke-Wettach Society and the 1845 Society. He has an active and generous supporter of Providence Day School, with Memberships in the 1970 Society (Innovators Circle) and Cornerstone Society (Leadership). Mr. DeMayo’s passion and commitment to education culminating in the contribution of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) to build an Academic building and Welcome center. The DeMayo Gateway Center opened its doors on December 4th, 2017.
Philanthropy for Mr. DeMayo and DeMayo Law Offices LLP has always additionally meant a sustained commitment and contribution to improving and educating the community through acts of service. Mr. DeMayo has earned national recognition and accolades for his commitment to community service programs. Two signature programs, The Michael A. DeMayo Arrive Alive Scholarship program and Arrive Alive, developed to educate teens on the dangers of underage drinking and driving were developed to make the community a safer place. Mr. DeMayo developed the Arrive Alive ® outreach program meant to educate teenagers about the dangers and consequences of underage drinking and driving and delivered the “Arrive Alive®! Don’t Drink and Drive” message to thousands of teens for a sustained number of years. In Conjunction this program, DeMayo Law Offices LLP as awarded over $650,000.00 (Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars) in college scholarships to graduating high school seniors through the Michael A. DeMayo Arrive Alive Scholarship for the last consecutive 19 years.
