Michael "Mike" Townsend devotes his practice to representing injured parties as well as persons who have been wrongfully denied insurance coverage. Mike began the first five years of his legal career working for one of Missouri's largest insurance defense firms where he gained valuable experience and insight into how insurance companies defend, and more importantly, evaluate your case. He now uses that experience to represent you against those same insurance companies.
Mike received his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University where he studied sociology and criminology. He later graduated, with honors, from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. Mike is admitted to practice in the states of Missouri and Kansas as well as the federal courts of both states.
After finishing law school, Mr. Townsend spent five years working for a large insurance defense law firm. There he gained valuable experience in the methods insurance companies use to deny coverage to claimants. Since joining the law firm of Peddicord & Townsend LLC as a partner in April of 2010, he has used the knowledge he gained in his previous position to fight for fair compensation for his clients.
When Mr. Townsend is not in the courtroom or negotiating a settlement for one of his clients, he is still never far from the legal community. He is an active member of a number of legal organizations on the state and local levels, including The Missouri Bar and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
