Peter F. Iocona
SoCal Personal Injury Attorney
Laguna Hills,
 CA

Recognized for his trial work by Super Lawyers, Peter F. Iocona is a trial attorney whose practice focuses on high-stakes personal injury litigation throughout Southern California, particularly in Orange County. Through SoCal Personal Injury Attorney, he represents individuals and families who have suffered catastrophic injuries or wrongful death as the result of another person's negligence. His practice is built upon meticulous preparation, strategic litigation, and trial readiness, allowing him to pursue full and fair compensation for clients facing life-changing injuries and substantial financial losses.

Mr. Iocona serves as lead trial strategist for personal injury litigation in coordination with lead litigation counsel Aaron Hicks. His practice includes catastrophic injury claims, wrongful death litigation, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, serious motor vehicle collisions, commercial trucking accidents, motorcycle collisions, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, premises liability, dog bite claims, and other significant plaintiff-side injury matters involving complex liability issues and substantial damages.

Unlike many personal injury attorneys whose practices have been devoted primarily to civil litigation, Mr. Iocona brings more than twenty years of courtroom experience developed through thousands of contested DUI and criminal cases, including more than fifty jury trials. That background provides a unique advantage in catastrophic personal injury litigation, where success often depends upon effectively presenting and challenging accident reconstruction evidence, forensic toxicology, biomechanics, medical causation, human factors, and expert witness testimony. Having spent decades cross-examining law enforcement officers, accident reconstructionists, toxicologists, physicians, and scientific experts in complex criminal trials, Mr. Iocona applies those same courtroom skills to helping injured clients maximize recovery through negotiated resolution or trial.

Through SoCal Personal Injury Attorney, Mr. Iocona represents clients throughout Southern California, including Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County, providing experienced trial representation in serious injury and wrongful death litigation across the region.

In addition to his personal injury practice, Mr. Iocona personally handles complex DUI defense matters through OC DUI Lawyer, where he has built a reputation for trial readiness and results in high-exposure cases involving blood and breath testing, DUI drugs, forensic toxicology, DMV administrative hearings, DUI causing injury, great bodily injury allegations, vehicular manslaughter, Watson murder prosecutions, and other serious DUI matters requiring extensive scientific and evidentiary analysis.

Mr. Iocona is committed to representing people across Orange County, California, for DUI, including those arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Department in Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton, and Yorba Linda; or those arrested by local police departments in Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Habra, Newport Beach, Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin, and Westminster.

Mr. Iocona also provides strategic direction for state and federal criminal defense and professional licensing matters through Orange County Criminal Defense Attorney. State Criminal Defense and professional licensing matters are coordinated with attorney Marlo Cordero and other experienced litigation counsel, while Federal Criminal Defense matters are handled in coordination with experienced federal practitioner Ginger Saldanha. This collaborative practice structure allows each matter to benefit from focused experience while maintaining consistent strategic oversight from initial consultation through resolution.

Professional Licensing Defense matters include representation of physicians, nurses, psychologists, therapists, pharmacists, pharmacy techs, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, CPAs, accountants, real estate professionals, insurance professionals, licensed contractors, and other licensed professionals facing disciplinary investigations, administrative enforcement actions, or criminal allegations affecting their professional licenses. Mr. Iocona routinely represents clients before California licensing boards where criminal law, administrative law, and professional regulation intersect.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Iocona began practicing law with the Law Office of Barry T. Simons in 2000, where he developed a strong foundation in trial advocacy and courtroom litigation. He later served as a founding partner and lead trial attorney with The SoCal Law Network from 2016 through 2025 before transitioning to his current practice structure, which organizes his practice into distinct platforms dedicated to DUI defense, criminal defense and professional licensing, and catastrophic personal injury litigation.

Through these affiliated practice platforms, Mr. Iocona represents clients throughout California with an emphasis on preparation, strategic case development, courtroom advocacy, and achieving the best possible outcome in every matter. Whether defending an individual accused of a serious crime, protecting a professional license, or representing a family following a catastrophic injury or wrongful death, his approach remains the same: meticulous preparation, honest advice, and trial-ready representation designed to maximize results.

Attorney Peter F. Iocona has been recognized by Lawyers of Distinction for excellence in his representation of his clients. Lawyers of Distinction is a peer-reviewed organization that selects attorneys based on professional achievement, reputation, and ethical standing. Mr. Iocona was also designated a “Superior DUI Attorney” by the National Advocacy for DUI Defense (NAFDD) and was selected for inclusion in the "National Association of Distinguished Counsel’s “Nation’s Top One Percent” in 2015 and was recognized by OC Metro Magazine for his work as a trial attorney.

Mr. Iocona has successfully litigated thousands of cases and has taken more than fifty matters to trial. He has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for Criminal Defense and The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for Civil Plaintiff.

From 2003 through 2016, Mr. Iocona served as a contributing editor to the two-volume legal treatise California Drunk Driving Law, one of California's leading references on DUI law. He has received extensive training in forensic toxicology, DUI drugs, blood and breath testing, and field sobriety testing, including certification under National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards as both a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Administrator and SFST Instructor.

Mr. Iocona is a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), the California DUI Lawyers Association (CDLA), the DUI Defense Lawyers Association (DUIDLA), the California Association of Criminal Justice (CACJ), and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). Through these organizations, Mr. Iocona has received advanced and specialized training in DUI and criminal defense. Throughout his long and distinguished career, Mr. Iocona has lectured on DUI litigation, forensic evidence, DMV administrative hearings, and criminal and DUI trial strategy, and continues to integrate that courtroom experience across his DUI, criminal defense, professional licensing, and personal injury practices.

Whether representing an individual accused of a serious criminal offense, protecting a professional license, or advocating for someone whose life has been permanently altered by a catastrophic injury, Mr. Iocona's practice is grounded in thorough preparation, strategic advocacy, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for every client.
