Attorney Peter F. Iocona is an Orange County criminal defense attorney with a practice focused on DUI defense, criminal defense, professional licensing defense, and personal injury matters. He represents clients in complex, high-stakes cases in both state and federal courts throughout Southern California.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Iocona served in trial and leadership roles with the Law Office of Barry T. Simons, where he developed a strong foundation in DUI and criminal trial advocacy. From 2016 to 2025, he was a founding partner and served in executive and trial leadership roles at The SoCal Law Network. Mr. Iocona subsequently returned to his own practice, The Law Office of Peter F. Iocona, APLC.

Mr. Iocona is committed to representing people across Orange County, California, for DUI, thus those arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Department in Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton, and Yorba Linda; or those arrested by local police departments in Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Habra, Newport Beach, Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin, and Westminster.

Mr. Iocona also handles Professional Licensing Defense matters, including cases arising from criminal allegations as well as matters involving fitness-to-practice issues independent of criminal charges. These cases focus on disciplinary exposure, administrative enforcement, and the professional consequences that can arise from conduct inside or outside the workplace.

Mr. Iocona represents professional licensees throughout the State of California in matters involving disciplinary proceedings, investigations, and fitness-to-practice issues. His licensing defense work includes representation before the California Board of Medicine Defense Attorney, the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Defense Attorney, the California Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT), the California Board of Psychology (BOP) Defense Attorney and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) Defense Attorney, including Licensed Therapists and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), California Real Estate Agents and California Real Estate Brokers (DRE), the California Board of Pharmacy (CSB) Defense Attorney, the California Board of Optometry (CSBP) Defense Attorney, and the California Board of Accountancy Defense Attorney.

Mr. Iocona also represents clients in personal injury matters throughout the State of California, with a focus on Southern California, including Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County.

Mr. Iocona holds an Avvo-Rating of "Superb" "(10/10)" and has been listed by OC Metro Magazine as a "Top-Rated" DUI/Criminal Defense Attorney in Orange County, California". Mr. Iocona was also received "The Clients' Choice Award - 2025" from Avvo. 

His trial work has also been referenced in media coverage, including a 2016 article published by the OC Weekly entitled: "OC Judge Slams Prosecutor for Misconduct, Prosecutor Gets Promoted by DA Tony Rackauckus". This article was part of a lengthy series of articles by Scott Moxley of the OC Weekly regarding what had become known as the "Orange County Snitch Scandal". The article addresses the extent of Prosecutorial Misconduct in Orange County stating that "Prosecutorial cheating apparently extends to relatively minor trials, too.", which Mr. Iocona exposed in 2015 during the trial of The People of the State of California vs. Sandra Goelman.

Mr. Iocona has been recognized for his trial work by Super Lawyers in 2015 and 2016 as a Super Lawyers "Rising Star". Mr. Iocona has been Super Lawyers "Rated" since 2015.

Mr. Iocona was also selected into the List of the The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 starting in 2015 and is regarded as one of Orange County's most accomplished trial lawyers.

Mr. Iocona was also designated a “Superior DUI Attorney” by the National Advocacy for DUI Defense (NAFDD) and was selected for inclusion in the "National Association of Distinguished Counsel’s “Nation’s Top One Percent” in 2015.
