Richard Ely is a graduate of Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans where he earned Moot Court honors. He also served as Vice-President of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and President of the Entertainment Section of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, and a member of Louisiana Association for Justice.
Mr. Ely is a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, and has been a practicing attorney since 1998. His practice primarily includes handling complex severe personal injury cases, including traumatic brain injuries and trucking accidents. He has previously represented some of the largest insurers in first party and third party claims and has vast experience with wrongful death and serious injury claims. Thus, as an attorney now representing injured victims, he has a unique window on how the defense handles these types of claim. He also has assisted clients with emergency response plans to catastrophic loss accidents.
Mr. Ely practices before all levels of State and Federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. Additionally, he provides in-house seminars to clients on issues of Louisiana law in his fields of practice.
