Rick Holtsclaw entered private practice more than 35 years ago and has practiced law in both state and federal courts, representing clients in 20 different states.

Widely recognized for his skills in the courtroom, Rick was admitted to the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum in recognition of the multi-million dollar verdicts he has won for his clients at trial – including the largest FELA verdict ever awarded in Jackson County, Missouri. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), received the coveted AV rating from the Martindale Hubbell Peer Review, and he is past chairman of the Missouri Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Committee, which oversees the ethical conduct of attorneys.

Rick received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from UMKC, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award.

After law school, Rick worked as Assistant Prosecutor for Jackson County, Missouri. He entered private practice in 1988 but still occasionally serves as Special Prosecutor for the State of Missouri.
