Robert J. Francavilla, CaseyGerry partner and one of San Diego’s leading trial lawyers says that the most important part of the job is to get to know each client and their inherent qualities as human beings, in order to completely understand their harms and losses. “Believing in and having compassion for the people I represent drives me to fight for the justice to which they are entitled.” He states.
Robert specializes in serious personal injury, premises liability, and highway design cases. He has successfully handled the gamut of complex cases, including tragic losses involving wrongful death, paraplegia, quadriplegia, severe burns, loss of limbs, and major orthopedic injuries.
He is a highly respected trial lawyer, and fellow attorneys often request that he try lawsuits on behalf of their clients. Robert has achieved numerous multi-million-dollar results for his clients including a complex product liability case involving a client who was wheelchair-bound and sustained horrible injuries when his wheelchair’s power assist mechanism failed, sending the plaintiff crashing into an adjacent vehicle. As a result, the plaintiff broke his tibia and fibula and now experiences chronic permanent pain. Robert was able to secure a $7.6 million verdict for his client. He was recognized as the Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego for his work on this case.
In addition, Robert has been honored seven times with the Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. He was named one of the Top Plaintiff Lawyers in California in 2015 and 2020 by the Daily Journal, Best Lawyers ‘Lawyer of the Year’ for 2015 and 2022, a Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyer 2019 to 2021, a San Diego Super Lawyer and one of San Diego’s outstanding plaintiff personal injury lawyers since 2007, and a Best Lawyer since 2008.
Robert, who is a native of Los Angeles and has lived in San Diego for 35 years, enjoys spending time with his wife Carla and their two sons. He also enjoys running, weight training, and attending his children’s activities.
