Robert Schleier is known for his
aggressive courtroom approach and passion in advocating for victims of
traumatic personal injuries. He has been practicing in litigation for over 20
years including 8 years representing plaintiffs. His previous background as a
partner at a defense firm and a claims adjuster gives him a comprehensive
perspective of both sides of the law and provides his clients with a
significant advantage when it comes to seeking justice for their
accidents.
Rob attributes his success to his genuine and personal approach in working
with his clients. Rob is highly involved in every aspect of the case from
intake through trial. His ability to establish a close connection with
individuals who have been severely injured assists him in presenting a
strong, convincing case and has resulted in several successful verdicts and
settlements over his career.
Dedicated highly to his clients, Rob’s most honorable recognition is the
positive feedback he receives from clients and lawyers, and the acquired
trust others place in him when referring their family and friends. As a respected trial attorney in the industry, Rob participates in a number
of professional organizations outside of the firm. He was recognized by Super
Lawyers©Â as a top NY Metro Area lawyer
and is an active member of the New York Trial Lawyers Association and the New
York State Bar Association. Additionally, Rob is a proud member of the
Suffolk County Bar Association, recognized in 2012 for his outstanding work
as the former chairman of the Defense and Insurance Committee. While in this
position, he was often sought out to lecture in Suffolk County, joining
fellow attorneys and judges in educating members on various topics to improve
their practices. In October 2020, Rob was recognized by Super Lawyers as a
top NY Metro Area lawyer. Rob is
currently a guest lecturer at St. John’s Law School.
Prior to his work with plaintiffs, Rob worked as a defense attorney for
over 10 years gaining valuable trial experience and exposure working closely
with numerous insurance companies and corporate entities. During this time, Rob realized his desire
to protect individuals in need of strong legal representation and turned his
focus to representing plaintiffs. Rob heavily concentrates his practice in the areas of plaintiff personal
injury and medical malpractice, representing victims of negligence throughout
New York City and in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. Rob shifted
his focus from defense to plaintiff representation in 2012, co-founding the
firm Schoen & Schleier, LLP, before moving on to form The Law Office of
Robert E. Schleier Jr. in 2015.  Rob
joined Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro as a partner in 2019, returning to
his own practice in June of 2020.
A graduate of the University of Albany, Rob’s interest in the law began
after working as a claims adjuster for Crawford & Company on Long Island.
He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg
Law Center, graduating Magna Cum Laude for his impressive academic
achievements. Rob passed the Bar in
2000 and is admitted to practice law in the state courts of New York and
Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Court for Southern and
Eastern Districts in New York.
