Shannon Cambridge Lindsey is the owner of The Lindsey Law Firm, LLC, located in Slidell, Louisiana, where she focuses her practice on representing injured workers under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina, and her Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
From the Courthouse to the Capitol, Shannon employs a uniquely dynamic approach to protecting her clients and their legal interests. Her mastery of complex trial and appellate litigation has achieved numerous successful legal outcomes for her clients. Her administrative and legislative advocacy efforts have helped ensure that her clients’ fundamental rights as injured workers remain intact.
Shannon has further expanded the reach of her work through involvement in various professional organizations and trade groups. She is a former President of Louisiana Workers’ Advocates, Inc. (the Louisiana chapter of WILG), an association of attorneys who represent workers’ compensation claimants. She currently represents professional athletes as a member of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Workers' Compensation Attorneys Panel. She is also a member of the National Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group, the Louisiana Bar Association, and the Louisiana Association for Justice.
On August 26, 2016, Shannon was appointed by Governor John Bel Edwards to the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council, representing Public Service Commission District 1. In addition to her dedicated work on the Council, she is often called to testify before House and Senate legislative committees on complex matters concerning workers’ compensation law.
Over the years, Shannon has been privileged to share her comprehensive knowledge of workers’ compensation law through lectures and CLEs hosted by a range of professional organizations, including the National Association of Workers’ Compensation Judges (NAWCJ) Judicial College, the Louisiana State Office of Workers’ Compensation Judges and Mediators Joint Conference, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
