Shannon has a solid reputation in the legal community with both Courts and colleagues locally. She is known for being ethical, tough, aggressive, determined, and hard-working. Very few other attorneys are able to take command in the courtroom with ease as she does for her clients. Early on, she was nicknamed “El Toro” meaning “The Bull” in Spanish.
Before law, Shannon was recruited by UCDMC where she worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She was the editor of an article in the American Medical Journal.
Shannon graduated "magna cum laude" from CSU Stanislaus. Shannon was recruited by Maurer School of Law in Indiana, where she received a full scholarship with a stipend. She is credited as an editor of an article published in the Harvard Law Review.
Shannon clerked for Judge Patrick Zika in the Alameda County Superior Court and at Barnhart & Sturgeon. In the Inmate Legal Assistance Project, she met with inmates to provide free legal services at a Federal Maximum Security Prison.
