Shawn's practice is limited to trial work representing injured people in tractor trailer, automobile, medical negligence, defective products, and class action litigation. He has worked with, and against, some of the finest trial lawyers in the country. He has received verdicts in difficult cases in the field of personal injury and insurance litigation. He has skillfully litigated and recovered millions of dollars for individuals and their families for injury or death caused by the negligence of others. Shawn was born in Arkansas and raised in the Arkansas River Valley. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and received a BA in Business Administration. He next attended the University of Arkansas School of Law where he wrote a top paper in his legal research and writing section and participated in Moot Court. After graduating law school he began his legal career defending large corporations, but quickly realized he would much rather represent people. As a result, in 1999 Shawn began practicing with a prominent Fort Smith attorney representing injured people and small businesses in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Shawn has been practicing with nationally recognized attorneys at The West Law Firm since 2008. The West Law Firm is highly skilled and experienced in prosecuting complex injury and class action cases. Shawn is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Oklahoma and Arkansas, and has tried cases throughout both states. He also appears pro hac vice in other state and federal courts when necessary. His membership in the Oklahoma Association for Justice, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice has given him additional experience and insight in civil trial litigation and a familiarity with other attorneys engaged in a similar practice of pursuing justice for injured people.
